Ravindra Jadeja’s Wife Rivaba Solanki, “He Was Inconsolable And Kept Saying, ‘Agar Main Out Nahi Hota Toh Hum Jeet Gaye Hote’”

During India Vs New Zealand’s semi-final match in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament, Ravindra Jadeja’s performance was a ray of hope for the all the cricket fans. Jadeja stepped on the ground when India was 92 for 6 in the 31 overs. It was his 2nd game of the tournament and we must say Jadeja didn’t hold back from giving New Zealand a tough fight. Ravindra scored 77 runs just 59 balls and put on a century partnership with MS Dhoni for the seventh wicket. Now, Jadeja’s wife Rivaba Solanki has now revealed how the cricketer felt after India exited ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Speaking to Bombay Times Rivaba said, “He was inconsolable after the loss and kept saying, ‘Agar main out nahi hota toh hum jeet gaye hote’. When you lose a match after coming this close, it really hurts and it will be a while before he comes to terms with it. I just told him that everyone is proud of the way he had played and shouldn’t feel bad, as he gave it his everything. I had planned to travel to England to watch the final, but now I will drop that plan.”

I was at the ground during the India vs England game but unfortunately, Ravindra wasn’t a part of the playing XI that day. Still, I was proud of his brilliant catch on the field that day. I have tried to draw him away from thinking about the semi-final match,” she added.

Further, when Rivaba was asked about Jadeja’s sportsmanship she said, “If you look at his journey, he has always performed in crunch games, taking wickets and scoring vital runs. When we won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013, he was the man of the match in the final for his all-round performance. Even in test cricket, he has played some tremendous knocks under extreme pressure. Whenever the team is under pressure, Ravindra has delivered in most situations. While watching the semi-final, I was in a state of shock when we lost six wickets with less than a hundred runs. But with him and MS Dhoni at the crease, I knew that we had a chance if the duo batted sensibly, which they did. But it’s heartbreaking to lose after coming so close. Ravindra isn’t a newcomer anymore and thanks to doing well in crunch games both in international cricket and the IPL, he is a very confident cricketer today. He did well in the 2015 WC too. So, whenever the team management requires his services in a crunch game, he is always ready for the opportunity. He has enough experience now and he utilizes it to his advantage.”
